An appeal has been allowed for an annexe at an existing home within the South Hams. The Council had objected on the basis that it would result in a new home within the countryside, a design that was out of keeping and concerns over drainage. The Inspector dealing with the appeal agreed that the use and drainage were matters to be dealt with by condition and that the design was in keeping with the appearance of the existing dwelling. Whilst we did not deal with the planning application we appraised the decision and concluded that the refusal was not well founded. We are often asked to review applications that are refused and have a good record of success on appeal.
