Redevelopment of a run down site in Plymouth has been allowed following an appeal. The issue for the appeal related to the standard of car parking at the site and whether this was satisfactory or not. Technical details were provided during the planning application to demonstrate how this would work. In allowing the appeal the Inspector determined that whilst it did not need meet the standards used by the Council it nevertheless was shown to work. The use of general standards is not a reason to refuse permission if it still works!
