Appeal lost??

An appeal was turned down recently to replace a Class Q barn with a re-sited dwelling. The appeal considered 4 reasons for refusal. Two of the reasons were dismissed and two were upheld. The appeal gave clear reasoning on all matters and provides a useful independent review of matters that the parties disagreed on.

In this case, the approach to certain matters was challenged by the appellants and were found in their favour. Other matters were not supported and whilst we can all have our own view, sometimes we need to accept the view of others. An appeal is often a helpful way to establish key points, for all parties, to allow something to move forward with a common understanding. Sometimes loosing is not actually loosing!
