We were asked to help a property owner after it was discovered that a change of use had taken place that required planning permission. Retrospective planning applications are always best avoided but sometimes there is a mistake that needs to be dealt with.
Our approach was to engage with the Council in a pre-application enquiry to explain the background and try to resolve the issue. This pre-application contact allowed an opportunity to deal with the various points and eventually led to the grant of planning permission with conditions. When something has gone wrong it is important to understand the best way to resolve that problem. With extensive experience in both the public and private sector we are ideally placed to help work out a strategy.
