Permission in principle for a new house outside of the established settlement boundary has been allowed on appeal. The council rejected the initial application citing a lack of sustainability and possible harm to the setting of a conservation area.
The Planning Inspector considered that the site was a sustainable location having regard to the local facilities and that careful design would deal with the nearby conservation area issues.
As this was a permission in principle the details will follow through the Technical Details Consent stage.
