Permission in Principle was granted to change the use of a former social club into two houses. PIP is not often used but can be very effective in finding out the principles of development in a short timescale. In this case, it was helpful to the landowner and enabled a property to be sold for a new use with minimal up front cost. The application of PIP is quite wide and allows for not only new build development but also for the change of use, including for land within a Conservation Area and the grounds of a listed building!
